Video ideas written from what is actually in your clips
You have the footage. You even have the time. Then the app asks what the video should be about, and the box stays empty. Idea lists online don't help, because they suggest videos you never filmed.
The short answer
RawCut writes ideas from your own library. It has already read what happens in each clip you added, so the ideas it suggests are ones your footage can actually deliver. Pick one, tweak it if you like, and it cuts the video.
An idea is already waiting
Open the create screen and there's already a suggestion in the empty script box, with a note saying it came from your clips. Not your thing? Tap Another for the next one. With ten or more clips there are up to eight ideas to cycle through.
Or ask for a script
Tap No script in mind? Let AI write one and choose how to start:
- A feeling: Cozy, Aesthetic, Energetic, Cinematic, Calm or Fun.
- Your own rough idea: type something half-formed, like "our first week in the new shop", and tap Write my script.
The script lands in the script box. Nothing is cut yet, so you can read it first, delete a line, or rewrite one in your own words.
Why ideas from your footage work better
A script written without looking at your clips sounds great and then finds nothing. "Golden hour on the rooftop" is a lovely line, if you have a rooftop. RawCut writes from the notes it made about your clips, so its lines point at things you actually filmed, and more of them find a match.
What makes a good starting library
- Variety beats quantity. Ten clips from four places give more varied ideas than thirty from one room.
- Add the talking clips too. Then the cut has moments of you on camera, not only scenery.
- Group a shoot into a project. Then ask for ideas from just that trip or that event, instead of everything at once.
Your language
Scripts follow the language of your idea. Type your idea in Dutch, German or Spanish, and the script comes back in that language. The suggested ideas and the feelings are in English.
It never invents footage
Whatever the script says, the video is cut only from your own clips. RawCut doesn't generate video and doesn't use stock footage. If a line asks for something your library doesn't have, that line is left out and named, so you know exactly what to film next time.

Questions
What should I post when I don't have an idea?
Let your footage decide. RawCut suggests ideas written from the clips already in your library, so the ideas are built on what you actually filmed. Tap Another to see the next one.
Can AI write a video script from my own clips?
Yes. In RawCut, tap Let AI write one and pick a feeling or type a rough idea. It writes a script based on what is in your clips, and you can edit it before anything is cut.
What can I start a script from?
From a feeling (Cozy, Aesthetic, Energetic, Cinematic, Calm or Fun) or from your own rough idea, typed in your own words.
Does it generate footage when a clip is missing?
No. RawCut only cuts from your own clips. A line with no matching footage is left out and named, so you can film it or change the script.
