Editor's cut: pacing your video the way an editor would

Put the right moments in a row and you have a rough cut. It's correct, and a little flat. What makes a video feel edited is everything between the moments: how long each shot lasts, which one opens, where the cuts fall.

The short answer

In RawCut, tap Editor's cut on your video. It reworks the pacing of the cut you already have, applying the habits editors use by hand, and tells you in one sentence what it changed. It's instant, and Undo takes you straight back.

What it changes

Afterwards a short note tells you what changed, such as "paced the shots, cut on motion. 3 shots changed." No guessing.

What it leaves alone

Talking shots stay as they are, so no sentence is cut short for the sake of rhythm. If your whole video is talking, Editor's cut tells you there is nothing to change.

Want a different version? Another cut

Editor's cut polishes the video you have. Another cut makes a new one: same script, different clips. It deliberately skips the clips used last time, so the result is a genuinely different video, not the same one reshuffled. Useful for posting the same idea twice, or when the first cut picked the wrong moments.

And if you want control

Everything stays editable after either one. Trim a shot, drag to reorder, mute a clip, add text, or tap a shot and choose Replace to see the other clips that fit that line best.

Questions

What does Editor's cut do in RawCut?

It re-paces the video you already have: varied shot lengths, a moving opening shot, cuts on motion, matched light between shots and an ending that returns to the start. It says what it changed and Undo reverts it.

Does Editor's cut change talking shots?

No. Talking shots are left as they are so no sentence is cut short. On a video that is all talking, it tells you there is nothing to change.

What is the difference between Editor's cut and Another cut?

Editor's cut polishes the current video using the same clips. Another cut makes a new version of the same script and skips the clips the previous cut used, so it looks genuinely different.

Can I still edit the video myself afterwards?

Yes. You can trim, reorder, mute, add on-screen text or replace any shot with another clip that fits the same line.
